2022 Ford Expedition vs. 2022 BMW X4

The BMW X4 has yet to earn a five star review from the NHTSA this year, but still comes with many of the safety features found in the Expedition, like parking sensors, emergency automated brakes, a camera with surround view and adapted cruise control. Comforts within its cabin include heated seats, a powered sunroof, leather upholstery, and twelve inch displays.

Performance

Those that purchase the BMW X4 M can get an engine capable of generating 503 horsepower with the ability to accelerate from zero to sixty in 3.9 seconds with a towing capacity of 3500 pounds. Those that purchase the Ford Expedition Stealth will get a dual turbo V6 engine that can generate 440 horsepower, with the ability to accelerate from zero to sixty in under seven seconds with a towing capacity of 9,300 pounds.

The Bottom Line

While the BMW X4 has a slight edge in horsepower and acceleration, the Ford Expedition seats three extra passengers and has almost triple the towing capacity. And when you consider the fact that both SUVs cost around the same price despite the BMW X4 having half the cargo space and back seats which are just average, this makes the Ford Expedition the winner.
