The 2022 Ford EcoSport has a sportier design than the 2022 BMW X2. The Ford is shorter and wider, but taller in the front and back. Its headlights are rectangular with no daytime running lights (DRLs) or fog lights. The grille is also plainer than the BMW, which has a more aggressive look overall.

The EcoSport also comes equipped with a lower ride height than its German counterpart, meaning it sits closer to the ground—and gives you better clearance for off-roading.

However, unlike the Ford EcoSport's easy-to-use foldable seat mechanism (which can be operated by anyone), owners will have to manually remove each individual seat from its storage area in order to use it as extra storage space.

The 2022 BMW X2 can't match its rival in any of these areas—it feels like an overgrown hatchback, and its three-cylinder engine isn't as efficient as the EcoSport's four-cylinder mill.
