The 2022 Ford EcoSport has a more aggressive look than its predecessor, with the front end featuring new headlights, fog lights, and a larger and bolder grille than before. The tailgate is also redesigned to accommodate a spoiler in the rear window.

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class features a similar design to its predecessor—a five-door hatchback with styling elements inspired by the CLA sedan. You'll notice exterior design cues like flared wheel arches, sculpted bumpers, and headlamps with LED daytime running lights at both ends of the car.

The 2022 Ford EcoSport has a simple and airy interior, with a center console that is wide and flat. Performance

The EcoSport 2.0-liter engine is offered in two versions, the base model and a more powerful one with a turbocharger. This unit is paired with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission (with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters).

The GLA250's turbocharged 2.0L inline-four generates 208 hp/258 lb-ft of torque. This powerplant is also available with a six-speed manual or an electronic nine-speed automatic transmission (with shift paddles on the steering wheel).

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a compact SUV, the 2022 Ford EcoSport is the best choice. It may not be as luxurious or refined as the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, but it's got more room and better performance. The 2022 Ford EcoSport also comes standard with many more features than its German rival. While it doesn't have all of the bells and whistles that come standard in the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, it has enough to make up for what's missing while still keeping its price reasonable.
