However, while both SUVs can get up hills without difficulty and offer smooth rides on flat roads or curvy mountain trails, their engines will struggle when faced with steep inclines or heavy loads; they don't have enough torque (or force).

The Bottom Line

With its larger cargo area and more powerful engine, the 2022 Ford Escape has the advantage of hauling groceries or luggage. Its interior is also roomier than the 2022 Toyota RAV4, although there's not much difference between them in legroom.
