The Mustang's optional driver alert monitor sounds a warning and advises a break after spotting an inattentive driver. The NHTSA estimates that drowsy driving results in roughly 100,000 collisions and 1500 fatalities annually. There is no driver alert monitor available in the Challenger.

Performance

The basic engine configuration of the 2022 Ford Mustang is a standard 2.3 turbo 4-cylinder engine with an ambitious power output of up to 310 horsepower. The Challenger is slightly underpowered, producing just up to 303 horsepower in standard configuration.

On the Ford Mustang, a 10-speed automatic is an option for greater acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. For the Challenger, there is just an eight-speed automatic available.
