Design & Style

  • Exterior Design

There are many differences between the 2022 Ford Mustang and the 2022 Toyota Supra when it comes to their exterior design. The 2022 Ford Mustang has a rounder, square shape than the 2022 Toyota Supra. The front end of the 2022 Ford Mustang is also quite different from that of the 2022 Toyota Supra, as it has smaller headlights and no grille. In contrast, the front end of the 2022 Toyota Supra has larger headlights, and there is also a vertical lip-style grille present, giving it a sharper look than its competitor.

The rear portion of both cars looks similar, with similar taillights. Still, there are some noticeable differences between them, in terms of size and shape, along with additional features such as LED lights for indicators or brake lights, depending on which car model you get into!

The 2022 Toyota Supra has a two-tone color scheme that looks good and seems durable enough to last through some tough times. On top of that, it has an 8-inch touchscreen display and a 12-speaker JBL sound system (optional). The 2022 Ford Mustang has a 10-inch touchscreen display and nine speakers. Both have heated seats and steering wheels, but only the 2022 Supra has automatic climate control as standard equipment.

Technology & Safety

Both cars will feature adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert as standard on their base models. The Ford Mustang also offers lane departure warnings, driver attention alerts, and lane keep assist as optional extras for an additional cost. However, the 2022 Supra has slightly more standard features than the 2022 Mustang in this category.

Performance

With the all-new 2022 Ford Mustang GT, you'll have the choice of two engines. The first is a 4.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. The second option is a 2.3 liter twin turbocharged I4 engine which puts out 310 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque.

The Toyota Supra gives you one engine option: A 3.0 liter twin turbocharged inline six cylinder that produces 335 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque in a standard form or up to 369 horsepower when upgraded with an intake manifold upgrade kit from Toyota Racing Development (TRD).

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a sports car with tons of torque and power, the Ford Mustang is your best bet. While it's not as fast as the Toyota Supra in acceleration, it makes up for this shortcoming by being far more comfortable to drive and offering a higher level of luxury.

The Subaru BRZ is also a great option if you want a mid-range sports car that's fun to drive but doesn't break the bank. However, because it has less power than either of these two cars, it might not be suitable for someone who wants extreme performance.
