For safety technologies, the list includes among others rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, driver drowsiness monitoring, and pedestrian detection.

As for the 2023 Hyundai Tucson, it comes with an eight-inch touch screen, six speakers, and wireless smartphone integration. It misses out on blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert for its standard set of safety features, though.  

Performance

Edging out the 2023 Hyundai Tucson in terms of engine performance, the 2023 Ford Escape has a rating of 28 mpg for city driving and 34 on the highway. Ratings for the Tucson reaches only up to 26 mpg and 33 mpg for city and highway driving, respectively. The Escape releases up to 181 horsepower for its three-cylinder engine, while the Tucson's four-cylinder only yields 187 horsepower.

The Bottom Line

The Hyundai Tucson has design and style aspects that make it win over the Ford, but when you consider the safety features, the Escape goes ahead of the game. Overall engine performance is better for the Escape as well. All these considered, this battle goes to the Ford.
