About Northport

Northport is a village that is located in the County of Suffolk, NY. The village is a maritime area that was previously known as Great Cow Harbor. The name was changed in the 18th century and it was around this time that the village was also officially incorporated. There are approximately 8,000 people who live in Northport and the main street in the village still features the old trolly rails that were used by streetcars at the end of the last century.
